Limit your banners and promotional efforts, and focus more on clean and clear content that engages visitors. Get them to be excited to read your content, and then they will stick around and look for other pieces of information within your website. The spiders need to be taken care of as well when it comes to the appearance of your home page. Stop stuffing your content full of keywords, and get that keyword density down to under 3% fast. You do not want to be mistaken for someone keyword stuffing, you could have your website and isp blacklisted. Clean up your articles and make sure all your categories and your page title have relevant keywords within them. Take time to clean up any meta tags, meta descriptions and meta titles because this is where the spiders will be reading to see if this information matches your content.
